The first professional powerlifting trainings were organized in 2002 under the initiative and guidance of our center team member’s father, the master of sports of the USSR on weightlifting, the third prize-winner of the European championship among veterans - Nicolay Ivanovich Peka. Further trainings on powerlifting were supported by "Association of veterans and invalids of sports", headed by the Olympic champion Sultan Rakhmanov and "the Dniepropetrovsk regional Federation on weightlifting", and headed by Vladimir Ustich, with the assistance of the Olympic champion on weightlifting Jury Zajtsev. Later on instructors on weightlifting were prepared from among the centre team members.
Contrary to existing opinion, we are not forcing newcomers to train on powerlifting - they need to achieve this possibility. It is necessary to take exam at basic physical possibilities first, as running, chinning to the crossbar for example. Trust of team members is deserved in this ways. Besides, it is necessary to explain the purpose of your powerlifting training at group. The weight does not "give up" and, except of developing muscular force and volition, it gives to our patient (who has never in his life lifted up nothing more weighty than a parent purse) understanding and belief, that from a weight, as well as from a life, he will achieve as much, as from himself.
Since 2004 training process has been supervised by the double world champion, the record-holder of Europe and the world, the "Deserved master of sports of Ukraine" on powerlifting Irina Karpova-Javorskaja and by the world champion among juniors, the champion of Europe, the silver prize-winner of the World championship on powerlifting Valery Karpov.
The specialized training room was established. The center team members participate and win the championships and tournaments on powerlifting. |
