The first minifootball field where doctors regularly played football with patients of the narcological (drug addicts treatment) unit, appeared in the late eighties, on a territory of a regional narcological dispensary on the Milmana street in Dnepropetrovsk. In those days, in the conditions of unit protected by militia, the lattices, the hostile relation between the personnel and patients, it was something unprecedented, and literally plunged into a shock the skilled and vigilant personnel of the Soviet "military-medical" narcology. Subsequently it became habitual. Though it remains unclear to the majority of experts in narcology. We returned to this experience in the course of the state experiment. The invariably emotionally painted situation of interaction of people for achievement of one joint aim, at the correct approach, possesses powerful therapeutic potential. Here not only rigid, unadoptable attitudes and behavior are visible, but also there is a possibility of their understanding and correction. Aftermatch discussions became a very effective form of work in psychotherapeutic group. After all, life is a "team game" too, where the one who is capable to "play" in a team wins. Therefore experience of exercises and competitions is the basis for all-round deep study of existing vital problems.

Official birthday of a football team "Choice" is considered a match with a national team of journalists "Trigoal", which was held on June 25, 1995 at the Dniepropetrovsk central football stadium "Meteor". Since then the team has regularly taken part in amateur tournaments and competitions in Dniepropetrovsk, Kiev, Poltava, and provides preventive work. Former patient of the centre, who was trained at "Sports School for Children and Junior" and has necessary technical and tactical skills, has held football trainings lately.

Many of newcomers arriving to the center have never played football therefore our team is not always capable of participating in tournaments. But the trainings and games always take place, where people are learning to interact with others, learning own objective possibilities, having abilities to think over own behavior, and choose more rational decision in quickly varying situation. In the course of trainings people start to understand simple, but very important thing for life: to be a member of the team - it is better and more useful, than to be the "exclusive" alone. Many have passed through the team "Choice". None of them has become a professional player, but the overwhelming majority has become "People".
